MM6 collection for FW13 is the perfect combination of layering and sportswear aesthetic. Shiny ribbed leg warmers meet matte tights. Capes, coats, parkas and fur jackets cover sheath dresses, oversized sweatshirts and knit tunics. The iconic trompe-l’œil technique mixes and matches with mosaics and color-blocking for what seems to be the most colourful MM6 collection ever. Platform boots and loafers recall a somehow not-entirely-gone punk era; experimental accessories like roomy triangle bags, metallic purses and fur muffs complement the outfits, inspired by 1952 Winter Olympic Games.
When I’m not busy at work I like to indulge in some very heavy blog-reading, browsing entire archives of posts written by my favorite bloggers. And I’m telling you, it’s worth it! When I really like a blog, I cannot stand not having read every single post the author’s written and published.
Ok, so, we’ve been loving the sales for a few weeks now and that’s a fact. Unfortunately we haven’t found EXACTLY what we were looking for. Or maybe we have bought something just because everyone did but, truth be told, it was simply not a bargain..? No worries, it’s not too late yet!
Due to health issues I can no longer be a vegetarian but that doesn’t mean I buy fur or leather items on purpose (I always take a look at components, just to be sure).
When it comes to shoes I have to be more flexible because Italians do love leather; on the contrary, I don’t find it essential and when possible I tend to buy PU versions of boots, although I have some pairs in leather as well (leather is definitely more resistant, you can’t deny it).
Flipping through my favorite fashion magazines (I had a preview of the trend a few weeks ago while at work, taking a look at the photoshoots of the main brand I sort-of-work-for) I’ve realized it’s definite and true: velvet is back.
Gabriele Colangelo has been working in fashion for years but he’s currently making himself more and more visible thanks to two very different projects: he’s both working as the creative director of Genny, memorable Italian fashion brand dating back to the 60’s/70’s, and he has also launched his own label in 2008.
Holidays, here I come! After months and months of (underpaid) work, away from the people I love on weekdays, studying hard for my graduation (we’re past that, thank you anyway), now it’s time for relaxing a little, spending a couple of weeks doing what I like the most: watching TV series, hopefully writing for the blog, going out with my boo, cooking and much more, believe me.
